It is with high honors to announce the cooperation of Ms. Nasim Vakili with the Texas Persian Cultural Center. Ms. Vakili has over 18 years of experience teaching music (Daf, Tombak, Piano, and Santoor) to children and adults.

Nasim Vakili was born into an artistic family. Her mother, Mrs. Pari Vakili, is a well known and accomplished musician and instructor of piano and violin. Nasim's mother performed for many years in various Iranian orchestras, radio programs, and in the Center for Iranian Art & Culture.

Nasim started her piano classes at the age of 5 with her mother as the main instructor. She then took lessons from masters such as Mr. Kambiz Ezady, Cheista Gharib, and Shohreh Ghajar.  She was introduced to Santoor instrument at the age of 13 and with the help of her mother, she was able to meet and take lessons from masters such as Mr. Reza Shafieyan, Ms. Azar Hashemi, and Ms. Arfae-Etraee.

Nasim took Tombak lessons from masters such as Mr. Sarraf and Mr. Kambiz Ganje-ey and Daf lessons from Mr. Zahed Mansouri.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics in 1995 and a Masters degree in Music from Iran's Fine Arts University in 2004. She is currently continuing her education in Music and Music Therapy.

Nasim has a natural knack for teaching and over the last 18 years has developed her own successful style of teaching and musical composition for children. She is also active in composing music for children theatre and has twice won the prestigious award ("Simorgh-Blourin") in the Children Art Festival in Iran.

Nasim's love of music and art is evident in everything she does. She is kind, gentle, generous and full of life. She is loved by her students for her teaching style and her enthusiasm for music.  She supports the Cultural Center by donating a large portion of her instruction fees and by volunteering in the center's events. We are very lucky and proud to work with her.
