A close friend of mine, Cheryl Buckles, has introduced me to a
children’s advocacy charity here in Collin County that I would like to
ask you to consider supporting – by attending their Gala.
Cheryl has been on the board of CASA of Collin County since 2007 and has
devoted much time and energy to this very important Collin County
non-profit. The single largest fundraiser for CASA of Collin County, the
“Voice for Children” Gala is coming up (Saturday, March 6, 2010) and Ali
and I would like to ask you to consider attending and showing your
support CASA of Collin County – an organization that has an extremely
important mission in our community. Below is a very brief intro to CASA,
then an overview of the upcoming Voice for Children Gala, and then a bit
more information on CASA of Collin County.

donate a (new) item to the silent auction, or 3) you or your company
could sponsor a tax deductible $3,000 table and enjoy a fabulous Hooray

About CASA of Collin County: You may have read the recent October 2009
Dallas Morning News article, “Texas Leads U.S. in Child Abuse Deaths,”
citing a national child advocacy organization, Every Child Matters,
recently released report that Texas led the nation in child abuse deaths
with 1,509 children who died from abuse and
neglect between 2001 and 2007. The mission of Court Appointed Special
Advocates (CASA) of Collin County is to protect these at-risk children.
Founded in 1991, the CASA staff and over 165 advocates annually serve
the nearly 600 Collin County children (almost half under 6 years of age)
who are court-ordered into foster care, removing them from homes where
they are experiencing physical abuse, sexual abuse and neglect.
