Choose Control Panel
 

Click on Regional and Language Options.

Click on the Languages tab.


 

Click and checkmark "Install Files for complex script and right-to left languages (including Thai)" and Click APPLY.
(If the system asks for a CD of WINDOWS XP, you must provide it or direct the computer to the location of the installation files on your disk drive.)


 

If the systems asks you to restart the computer, CANCEL it as you can restart it later.

 

Now click on Details button (seen in the above pictures) and you will see the screen below



 

Click On ADD button




 

Select Farsi from the dropdown menu and click OK


 

Click OK again to get out of the language options screens.
 

RESTART the computer.
 

After the computer is restarted, you will see the language bar either on the DESKTOP or on the TASK BAR.
The picture below shows a typical bottom right hand corner of the taskbar with the Language Bar activated.


 

Now you can select FA (Farsi) and start typing on your word processing software like Microsoft Word.
 

You will have to find a mapping of the keyboard. Below is a typical mapping and may be a little different than your keyboard.
